Community Announcement

Enterprising Non-Profits Alberta (enp-ab) provides grants and technical assistance to non-profit organizations supporting the development or growth of their social enterprises. Enp-ab invites interested non-profits within Alberta to join us for our first Introduction to Social Enterprise workshop on May 5, 2011.
The Introduction to Social Enterprise workshop is for all non-profits, regardless of cause, to learn more about social enterprise or to refresh their knowledge. David LePage, Enterprising Non-Profits British Columbia, will lead the day-long session which focuses on reasons for starting a social enterprise and the business development path.
Attendance at the enp-ab workshop is a pre-requisite of prospective grant applicants. Attendance at the Introduce to Social Enterprise workshop ensures that staff and board members have a thorough understanding of the issues involved in enterprise development. There will be a review of the enp-ab grant requirements and priorities at the workshop; participating organizations will then be qualified to apply for enp-ab funding.
The workshop typically runs from 9:00am until 3:30pm including lunch and morning and afternoon coffee breaks. The cost is $100 for one individual from a non-profit organization and $50 for a second from that same organization. Lunch will be provided, as will a copy of the Canadian Social Enterprise Guide.
Registration requires a completed form and payment. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, or credit card. We will be hosting additional Workshops through 2011 (June 6, September 14, and October 13). Registration is open for all dates. For additional details and questions, please contact Michele Fugiel Gartner, Program Manager at 403-228-6756 or by visiting www.tricofoundation.ca.
