Crowdsourcing a Political Brief - Presentation to the Finance Committee

I am submitting a brief to the Finance Committee of the House of Commons addressing the following as they relate to for-profit social ventures and non-profit social enterprises:

  1. How to achieve a sustained economic recovery in Canada
  2. How to create quality sustainable jobs

Over the course of the next couple weeks I will be posting the various drafts of the proposal, the feedback from MP's that I am meeting with and I welcome and encourage your comments and suggestions as this document evolves.

Crowdsourcing a political brief... hmmm... how's that for an exercise in societal engagement?

Resources I am drawing upon:

I have requested meetings with the following MP's and the status update:

  1. Lee Richardson, my MP - Calgary Central: Declined request to meet
  2. Minister Bruce Hyer - Deputy Critic – Small Business & Tourism: Meeting confirmed for Aug. 4th
  3. Dan Harris - Deputy Critic – Science & Technology: No meeting scheduled
  4. James Rajottee - Finance Committee Chair: Brief to committee due on Aug. 12th
  5. Peggy Nash - Finance Committee Member and Finance Critic: No meeting scheduled
  6. Helene Leblanc - Critic – Science & Technology: No meeting scheduled
  7. Raymond Cote - Critic – Small Business & Tourism

I look forward to your feedback and suggestions. Thank you for pushing forward this concept.

Hi Bob;

For sure! I am going to put drafts of the brief up over the week. Of course, please comment.

Right now I am trying to get in front of members of the Conservative party since my own MP couldn't be bothered to take the time to meet. Suggestions? Introductions?
