Notes from Ray’s Desk: GIVE-API V2.0, and a Sneak Peek at Motif Giving

in

This is the second blog in a new series we are launching called ‘Notes from Ray’s Desk’. This blog series is written by our Systems Analyst and Project Manager Ray Stockford, and focuses Place2Give’s technology, updates to that technology, and general things of interest to our tech team.

GIVE-API V2.0 is ramping up and will be released soon!

Last month we release our GIVE-API, which provides developers, companies, and organizations with access to integrate the data that Place2Give has on North America’s vast charity sector into their own apps, websites, and platforms. We have been busy constantly improving our API to the point where in the next few weeks, we will be releasing Version 2.0 of the GIVE-API.  Updates include:

§  Basic + Advanced search algorithms

§  Access to more payment options (PayPal, Stripe: USD + CAD options) in the payment gateway for processing donations

In concert with our partners, we plan to continually update our API with additional methods and functionality to meet their constituent needs.

UX/UI and Place2Give

We are a startup. This means that we are constantly working on updating and ‘fixing’ the functionality of all of our products, based on feedback from users. This month we worked hard to improve our Place2Give website, increasing functionality and cleaning up the way things look in certain areas.

Sneak Peek at Motif Giving

As you may have seen, since the success of the Southern Alberta Emergency Relief Fund, Place2Give has been running specialized giving campaigns we like to call Motif Giving. Well, we are going to be taking that one step further in the next few months. Place2Give, in partnership with a local business from Calgary, is building out the Motif Giving platform to better serve fundraisers. Keep your eyes open for the new site, which will help donors, fundraisers and charities create campaigns that align with their giving goals.
